Day-to-day Trekking Itinerary

Day 1: MAUMERE - ARRIVAL (-/ -/ D). Up on arrival at Wai Oti airport of Maumere East Flores, our local guide will meet you and transfer to Sea World Club Cottages. Dinner and stay overnight at Sea World Club Cottages.

Day 2: MAUMERE FULL DAY VOLCANO EGON TREKKING (B/ L/ D). At 04.00 am in the morning we drive to Blidit village for approx 40 minutes, then start hiking to the peak of Egon volcano—it takes approx 2.5 hours. Arriving on the top of this volcano in the height of 1700 meters above sea level, you will see huge crater with thick smokes, smell the sulphur from its holes and make your very fantastic experiences. The last eruption of Egon volcano was in 2004. The wide of this volcano’s summit crater is 350 meters with 250 meters deep. Trekking down back to Blidit village and continue to Maumere for having lunch. Afternoon free--relaxing and enjoying the golden sunset from your hotel beach. Dinner and stay overnight at Sea World Club Cottages.
Day 3: MAUMERE - KELIMUTU - ENDE (B/ L/ D). An early morning at 03.00 am drive up to Kelimutu volcano to explore the inexplicably three colored crater lakes. Upon arrival at the car parking lot you will have a short walk for 1 km and then ascend 127 steps to the top to have a spectacular view over Kelimutu, one of the Indonesian most mysterious and dramatic sight: turquoise, blue, and black coke lakes. Kelimutu was discovered by the Dutch geologist in 1914. At that time the lakes were red, blue, and white. Drive down to Moni for having breakfast then proceed to Ende as the center of Flores through fruit market of Ndua Ria. Proceed to Ngalupolo to see traditional house of Endenes and you will see hand woven cloths are being exhibited here. Late afternoon will reach at Ende. Dinner and stay overnight at Hotel Mentari. 

Day 4: ENDE - RATE VILLAGE - IA VOLCANO - BAJAWA (B/ L/ D). At 04.30 am drive to Rate village a local fisherman village or as the suburb of Ende town, and start hiking from Rate village for 4 hours go and back. And upon arrival on the summit of Ia volcano you will be welcomed with so admiring huge crater of 300 m deep, and this volcano is 750 meters above sea level. Ia volcano erupted approx in year of 1969. And on this place you will see thick smoke and sulfur come out from this fantastic active volcano. Walking down to Rate village for 1.5 hours and drive back to Ende for having lunch, then a visit to the exile house of Indonesia’s founding father Mr. Ir. Soekarno who was exiled by the Dutch ruler around 1934~1938. Proceed to Pengga Jawa to see the blue rocks beach. Continue to Bajawa and en route stop in Wogo to see traditional house of Ngada tribe. Late afternoon arrive in Bajawa and direct to check in at hotel. Dinner and stay overnight at Hotel Bintang Wisata.

Day 5: BAJAWA - LUBA - BENA - JERE BU'U - NAGE HOTSPRING - NAGE VILLAGE (B/ L/ D). In the morning we will drive to Luba and Bena to see the most beautiful “Living Museum” traditional villages with its spectacular traditional house architecture of Bajawa tribe sit right on the foot of Inerie volcano. From Bena will start your trekking down to Jere Bu’u, and continue to Nage hot spring for taking a bath. Lunch box will be provided. At noon trek to Nage village for dinner and stay overnight in Villager’s House. 

Day 6: NAGE - BE'A VILLAGE - BHETO PADI - BOAWAE - MOLOKOLI (B/ L/ D). Simple breakfast in Nage village, take a walk down to Mala Nage village and go on to Tudo village takes 1 hour, then trekking up to the Be’a village for 3 hours and to Bheto Padi for 30 minutes. From Bheto Padi you will be picked up by bus and direct driving to Boa Wae for 2 hours. Lunch at Boa Wae. Drive to Molo Koli village as the starting point of hiking to volcano Ebulobo, it takes 2.5 hours. Dinner and stay overnight at Molo Koli village in Villager’s House. 

Day 7: MOLOKOLI VILLAGE - EBULOBO VOLCANO - MOLOKOLI - BAJAWA (B/ L/ D). At 04.00 am start hiking from Molokoli village to the top of Ebolubo active volcano, it takes 2.5 hours to the summit. From the top you will have a very spectacular panorama of Ende town and its surroundings and south cost of Flores. Ebulobo is an “active volcano” in the height of 2150 meters above the sea level and the last eruption was around 1950,s. The crater has 250 meter wide and the smokes always come out from its peak. Walking down to Molo Koli village and direct drive to Bajawa with a stop en route to visit Wogo traditional house of Bajawa tribal ethnics. Late afternoon arrive in Bajawa and direct to check in at hotel. Afternoon drive to Soa, soak up into warm spring at Mengeruda hotspring, quite an experience in water runs down in cascades. Return to Bajawa town for dinner and stay overnight at Hotel Bintang Wisata.

Day 8: BAJAWA - AIMERE - RANAMESE LAKE - RUTENG (B/ L/ D). In the morning drive to Ruteng with stops in some places for making picture such as at Aimere to witness the distillation process of making arak--a local liquor that has 45% of alcohol—made of lontar palm tree. Continue to Ruteng via Rana Mese—a 5 hectare mountain lake that surrounded by thick cloudy rainforest. Afternoon arrive in Ruteng. Dinner and stay overnight at MBC Missionary Guest House (very quiet and clean).

Day 9: RUTENG - LODOK - TODHO - DENGE (B/ L/ D). By wooden truck drive to Cancar and take a short walking to Cara hill to have a complete view over the very unique shape of Spider Web-like-Rice field—a land division system of Manggarai name “Lingko”. Continue driving to Denge village for 5 hours. En route stop at some places for making picture such as at Todho village with its beautiful traditional house of Manggarai, this village was as the first Kingdom of Manggarai. On to Denge village via south coast. Lunch box will be provided en route. Dinner and stay overnight in Denge village at Villager’s House.

Day 10: DENGE VILLAGE - WAEREBHO VILLAGE (B/ L/ D). Start trekking to Wae Rebo villge passing through thick cloudy rainforest. During your trekking you will be entertained by the concert of birds and this makes your trip so fantastic. After trekking for 3 hours you will arrived at Wae Rebo, a very unique and the most traditional village that still left on the island--it has never influenced by outsiders. Wae Rebo is located in the middle of thick cloudy rainforest and surrounded by mountains. There are 4 unique and original traditional houses of Manggaraines. The village is also appropriate for the culture research. Local lunch will be served in Wae Rebo village. Dinner and stay overnight at Villagers’ House.

Day 11: WAEREBHO VILLAGE - DENGE VILLAGE - NANGALILI - LEMBOR - LABUAN BAJO (B/ L/ D). Simple breakfast in Wae Rebo village then walking down to Denge village via the same route. After trekking down for 2 hours you will arrive at Denge village. Lunch will be prepared in Denge village. By wooden truck driving to Lembor--takes 4 hrs through the south coast of Flores island and will stop at some places for making picture such at Kombo village for rice terraces and in Dintor for pretty small isle of Mules. Arrival at Lembor then bus to Labuan Bajo. Dinner and stay overnight at Bajo Eco Lodge or Hotel New Bajo.

Day 12: LABUAN BAJO - RINCA - FLYING FOX ISLAND (B/ L/ D). Transfer to Labuan Bajo harbor, continue embarking on a motorized fisherman’s wooden boat to Rinca island. Arrive at Loh Buaya - Rinca Island, follow the trail until we reach the Forestry Conservation Post for visitors’ ID registration. Starts trek inland in search for Komodo Dragon in their natural habitats. At a higher point Rinca offers a spectacular view over the island’s landscapes and the sea. During your way into the “Jurassic Park” either in Rinca or in Komodo island you may see water buffaloes, horses, monkeys, megapode and other colourful birds, wild boar, deer, and a lot more natural livings. Trekking down back to boat and sailing towards Kalong island—as usual every late afternoon all Kalong (=flying foxes) fly out to hunt for evening meals and will return the next early morning. Dinner and stay overnight ON BOARD (well organized for your comfort). 

Day 13: FLYING FOX ISLAND - KOMODO ISLAND - PINK BEACH - LABUAN BAJO (B/ L/ D). Breakfast on boat while sailing closer to Loh Liang station then take an hour mild trekking to Banugulung--former feeding ground to see the Komodo Dragons in the wild. During our way into the “Jurassic Park” you may see colourful birds, wild boar, deer, and other natural livings. Since feeding activity was stopped some years ago as to let the Komodo Dragons going back into their natural habitats, opportunity to see the Komodo Dragon itself is quite a wait and patient. On our way back to the boat have a short stop at Komodo cafe as to allow you do some shopping for Komodo branded T’ shirt, hat, key hanger, statue and a lot more are on display. Back to boat for having lunch while sailing to Pantai Merah (=Pink Beach). Here you can spend sometimes for snorkeling or swimming in the clear crystal water--a lot of beautiful coral reefs and colorful fishes to explore beneath this sea, or just having sun bathing on beautiful pink sandy beach. Sail back to Labuan Bajo and transfer to your hotel. Dinner serves at Golo sea view restaurant. Stay overnight at Bajo Eco Lodge or Hotel New Bajo. 

Day 14: LABUAN BAJO - DEPARTURE (B/ -/ -). Transfer to Komodo airport for your flight to next destination. Our service ends!
